ENGEN “UNLOCKED WITH EBEN ETZEBETH” GIVEAWAY
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. The Terms set out below apply to all participants entering the Engen “Unlocked with Eben Etzebeth” Giveaway (“the Competition”) conducted by Engen Petroleum Limited (“the Promoter”). By participating in the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Entries not complying with any of the Terms will be automatically disqualified.
The Competition, including all prizes, is sponsored by the Promoter and not by any Engen Retail Dealer.
- Eligibility
3.1. The Competition is open to all legal residents of the Republic of South Africa aged 18 years or older (“Eligible Contestants”).
3.2. The Competition will only take place within the Republic of South Africa.
3.3. Employees, directors, agents, contractors, and immediate family members of the Promoter, its advertising agencies, and suppliers are not eligible to enter.
- Duration
4.1. The Competition will run for five (5) days only, from 5 December 2025 to 9 December 2025.
4.2. Entries received outside this period will not be considered and will be automatically disqualified.
- Entry Mechanism
5.1. To take part in the Competition, participants must:
5.1.1. Visit the Engen Sports website during the Competition period.
5.1.2. Navigate to the dedicated “Unlocked with Eben Etzebeth” competition page.
5.1.3. Answer the competition question related to Eben Etzebeth as prompted on the website.
5.1.4. Submit their entry via the website form.
- Entry Channel
6.1. Entries can only be submitted through the Engen Sports website.
6.2. No other entry methods (including social media posts, direct messages, or emails) will be accepted.
- Number of Entries
7.1. Each person may submit one (1) valid entry during the Competition period.
7.2. Multiple entries from the same individual using different email addresses or personal details will be disqualified.
7.3. The Promoter shall not be held liable for any technical failure on the part of the participant’s service provider or any system error that prevents entry.
- Prizes
8.1. A total of five (5) winners will each receive a copy of Eben Etzebeth’s book Unlocked.
8.2. At least one (1) of the copies may be personally signed by Eben Etzebeth, at the Promoter’s discretion.
8.3. Prizes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable for cash or any other item.
8.4. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.
- Winner Selection and Announcement
9.1. Winners will be randomly selected on 10 December 2025 from all valid entries received during the Competition period.
9.2. The winners will be announced on 12 December 2025 via the Engen Sports social media channels.
9.3. The Promoter will contact winners directly via the details provided upon entry.
9.4. If a selected winner cannot be reached within 48 hours, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
- Further Participation by the Winner(s)
10.1. The Promoter may, after a Winner has been publicly announced, request that such Winner agree in writing or otherwise to endorse, promote, and advertise the goods or services of the Promoter, at no cost or expense to the Winner.
10.2. Winners may also be required to take part in publicity campaigns, broadcasts, or social media content relating to the Competition.
10.3. Winners will not receive any remuneration, royalties, or compensation of any kind for such further participation.
10.4. Winners may be requested to consent to having their photograph taken for press releases and/or social media. As a Winner, you have the right to decline such a request.
- Indemnification
All Eligible Contestants and Winners indemnify the Promoter, its partners, directors, employees, contractors, advertising agencies, and suppliers against any risk, loss, or damage arising from:
11.1. Any harm or loss experienced in using a prize, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law;
11.2. The use or disposal of the prize including, but not limited to, accident, injury, harm, or loss;
11.3. Participation in the Competition, including any associated costs;
11.4. Any subsequent transfer or exchange of the prize; and/or
11.5. Any lawful cancellation or termination of the Competition or correction of any errors or omissions.
- Limitation of Liability
12.1. The Promoter and its service providers shall not be liable or responsible for any delay or inability to perform its obligations due to factors beyond its control, including but not limited to stock unavailability, strikes, riots, fire, flood, or other acts of God.
12.2. The Promoter and its service providers are not responsible for:
- Incorrect or incomplete entry information;
- Technical malfunction or lost data transmission;
- Inappropriate or offensive content posted by participants;
- Any inability to access the Engen Sports website during the Competition period.
- Promoter’s Decision is Final
The Promoter’s decisions on all issues regarding the Competition will be final and binding and no appeal or correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to:
13.1. Correct any errors or omissions regarding the Competition; or
13.2. Suspend or terminate the Competition on written notice, at any time, where necessary.
- Use of Personal Information
By entering the Competition, each participant authorises the Promoter or its appointed agents to collect, store, and use their personal information for purposes related to the Competition, including winner communication and announcement. The Promoter will store such information only as permitted by law. Entrants may request that their personal information be deleted or amended by contacting the Promoter. - No Co-Sponsors
The publishers or owners of the Unlocked book are in no way affiliated with this Competition and are not sponsors of the Competition.
- Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from the Competition will be governed by South African law.
