BRIGHTON MHLONGO

Brighton Mhlongo is a former South African professional soccer player born on February 6, 1991, in Soweto, South Africa. Primarily a goalkeeper, Mhlongo has gained recognition for his agility, shot-stopping abilities, and leadership on the field.

Mhlongo began his professional career with Orlando Pirates, one of South Africa’s most prominent football clubs, in 2009. He quickly rose through the ranks, showcasing his talent and becoming a regular starter for the team. During his time with Orlando Pirates, Mhlongo played a crucial role in the club’s domestic and continental campaigns, including appearances in the CAF Champions League. In 2016, Mhlongo joined Chippa United on loan before making a permanent move to Bidvest Wits in 2017.

Throughout his career, Mhlongo has represented South Africa at various levels, earning caps for the national team and demonstrating his prowess on the international stage. Besides his on-field achievements, Mhlongo has also been a dedicated ambassador for Engen Soccer for the past two years, promoting youth involvement and development in the sport.

Off the field, Mhlongo is known for his charitable work and community involvement, engaging in initiatives aimed at youth development and education. Currently, Mhlongo works in broadcast, providing insightful analysis and commentary on soccer.

Despite his forced retirement in 2021 due to an eye injury, Mhlongo continues to inspire both on and off the pitch, leaving a lasting impact on the soccer community.

Together, they represent a fusion of creativity and talent, with House of H&H as a platform for their innovative contributions to entertainment and sports. As Engen Soccer ambassadors for the second year, they passionately inspire the next generation on and off the field, showcasing the diverse talent and vibrant culture of South Africa globally.
